Print Publishers Buy Into Subscription Website MarketPerason, publishers of the FT, today announced that they have acquired the subscription website business, Market Merger (www.marketmerger.com), for £101m.
Other companies reportedly interested in buying the group were McGraw-Hill and General Electric. There are growing signs that print publishers realize that their future is in specialist subscription website publishing. We predict that there will be a rapid acceleration in the acquisition of successful subscription websites by print publishers over the next three years |
