Here’s a Good Reason to Start Your Own Online Content Business

One of the blogs I like to follow is called Self Made Minds www.selfmademinds.com

It is written by two entrepreneurs in Scotland, Al Carlton and Scott Jones. They both gave up their ‘normal’ jobs to pursue a lifestyle running content websites from home.

Al runs a site about gadgets – www.coolgadgets.com and Scott owns several sites including www.tattoos-by-design.co.uk . Both earn a six figure income from advertising and affiliate marketing. In their blog they share a lot of what they learn so it’s worth a read.

Al’s blog entry for the 3rd September 2008 should inspire prospective entrepreneurs to take the plunge and start their own online business.

“The school summer holidays are finally over and though they have been highly enjoyable (boating, skiing, safari park, countless shopping trips, demolishing the house, making stuff, visiting relatives, etc)  I am looking forward to getting back to the fun of business.

It makes me thankful for choosing the business that I’m in. There are not many jobs or businesses where you can reduce your productivity by 95% for 6 weeks and still enjoy a growth in revenues”

The two phrases that are so exciting when coming from the mouth someone who is actually living their dream are:

  • “get back to the fun of business”  - how many wage slaves look forward to getting back to work after their summer vacation?
  • “There are not many jobs or businesses where you can reduce productivity by 95% and still enjoy a growth in revenues” – so true!

Conclusion

As Nike would say ‘Just Do It!’
