Kristi build her website with the help of SubHub. SubHub spoke with her about her love for children, her career and how she turned her passion into profit.
Can you tell us a little bit about your background and what led you to set up your site?Kristi: “I am an author, educator and children’s yoga specialist. I have been fortunate enough to be able to be part of some great projects that bring yoga and meditation to children and classrooms. I wanted to create the site so that children and parents everywhere have access to all that we have created.”
Why did you decide to use SubHub and how did it work out at first?
Kristi: “SubHub had a lot of informative videos, which is what first got my attention. The staff was always professional and responded very quickly. Communication was excellent, which is good because I had a lot of questions.”
How involved were you in developing the website, and did you have any experience in creating a website before?
Kristi: “I had some experience in website design before and I had a good idea of what I wanted. I was able to send over sketches that the designer worked directly from. I was pretty involved in the design.”
How hands on are you with updating your site?
Kristi: “I am very hands on. I am still updating. Although the site is live, I am still changing small things and updating information regularly before our full grand opening launch. So far, I do that work myself. I have a few other teachers who are going to contribute to the site, but I do all the website work myself.”
How much time do you spend updating your website?
Kristi: “Not much – the designers did such a great job. It is easy to maintain and change only a few things here and there to be updated. The platform is very easy to use.”
How do you interact with members and what’s the key to keeping them happy?
Kristi: “Outside of the website, there is a discussion forum and Facebook page. I think communication is the key to happy customers.”
How has SubHub enabled you to grow?
Kristi: “It has taken a localized product and made it available worldwide.”
What kind of content is most popular on your website and why do you think that is?
Kristi: “Free downloads are popular because members want to see what they are getting before they purchase a membership.”
How have you grown your email subscribers and how do you manage them?
Kristi: “The SubHub crew helped me set up MailChimp which has helped significantly.”
From your experience, what are the basic steps somebody needs to take to setup and develop a successful website?
Kristi: “Just start a conversation to get the ball rolling. The people at SubHub are so knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to the step by step process that you need to get started. Don’t be afraid to ask a lot of questions.”
What can people expect from your site in 2015?
Kristi: “We’re here as an online learning studio. We take an integrative approach to behavior modification through therapeutic movement and stillness training. From yoga and martial arts to specialized classes for parents, we offer a variety of fun, in-depth courses. Separate courses are also available for those seeking yoga instructor certification. Enjoy the convenience of attentive education without the cost of a private instructor.”
