The first step that needs to be undertaken is to apply for a merchant account.
This will need to be done through your bank, and having this will give you the ability to take credit card payments online.
Normally, you will find that the banks are geared up to help their clients through this application process.
To assist you with completing this form, we have provided you with a step-by-step help guide. Note that you do not have to complete the whole form in one go. You can save the information you have already entered and come back and complete the rest later. To view the Step-by-Step Guide click here.
As you work through the application process, you will need to follow up on your Merchant facility application with your bank.
Once you have completed your application, you will receive an email on setting up password access to your VSP services. This is a security feature and is part of the verification of your email account.
You have to log in using the password sent to you, and then that completes the 'Verification Process'.
Once you're verified, you'll get a confirmation email, a link to the secure login for the VSP Admin Panel and three pieces of info:
1 VSP Vendor Name
2 Admin Password
3 Encryption Password
a Vendor Name
b User Name (This is the same as vendor name)
Having received confirmation that the VSP Admin tests were OK, you can now apply to Protx to be upgraded to 'VSP Live'.
At this time, you'll have to confirm that you have set up a standing order to pay their charges.
When you get the OK from Protx, you'll get an email with a link to the VSP Live Admin Panel. Keep this email safe.
At this stage, I recommend that you actually join your site using a spare or alternate email address.
This way, you get to see the exact pages, emails and other communications that you have set up for your members.
You also get to see the transaction appear on your statement and you get to see if the automatic renewal is working as you planned!
