If you just create news and commentary on current events it is out of date within 24 hours. Tomorrow you have to start all over again. This is the situation that most bloggers find themselves in.
It is like being on a never-ending treadmill.
However if you create content that is as useful in 12 months time as it is today, then you are building the strong foundations of an Internet business which will continue to grow traffic, referrals, links and long-term value. This content is sometimes referred to as 'evergreen' content.
For example, if your site is about helping people run a restaurant, you can provide current news on how today’s weather is impacting the restaurant trade, or you can write an article about how to structure a menu to maximize your profits. The former is out-of-date in a day; the latter is advice that will be valuable for years.
Try to ensure that as much of your content as possible has a long shelf life; this will attract more traffic, make your life much easier and greatly increase the value of your business.
